Huawei Watch GT 2.
A design that is still as effective as ever.
Regarding ergonomics as well as design, Huawei has not taken any risks since these are exactly identical with the Watch GT first of the name.
We can therefore observe a very well finished watch, which can be worn in all situations, especially since there is the possibility of changing the strap depending on the occasion.
This watch is just a little smaller than its little sister and goes from 46 g to 41 g for the latter.
The Watch GT 2 has a 1.39 inch Oled screen which displays at 454 * 454 px with a resolution of 326 PPI.
All this combined offers perfect readability, just like the previous watch.
Interface.
With this watch, Huawei still offers its own operating system, the LiteOS.
Unfortunately it is still as weak, and it is still a shame that the Chinese manufacturer did not take advantage of the time to improve its OS, which tarnished a truly flawless set.
The only new feature compared to the previous one, is the Always-On function, which allows you to leave the connected watch screen on to have the time displayed.
The navigation is very simple and will not cause you any problems on this point.
A button takes you back to the home page and the second shortcut button for the activity menu.
You will also have the possibility to consult the weather, to be able to use the stopwatch, its
Alarm, its compass and its barometer.
There is also the possibility of being able to read the notifications and thus not miss anything of your messages etc…
As for dials, this watch has several displays so that everyone finds their preference.
Huawei Health app.
The Huawei Watch GT 2 still uses the same application, the Huawei Health, which is a very good application.
This is exactly the same as on the Watch GT review ans you can read this here.
The rest of the paragraph will therefore be a copy and paste:
Whether you are on IOS or Android, you will have to use Huawei Health, which is really clear and easy to use.
It gives access to all kinds of data collected, be it the number of steps, the history of sports sessions or sleep monitoring.
The different graphics are also quite detailed.
The Heart Rate Monitor and the built-in GPS of the Watch GT are excellent qualities.
Swiss precision.
The Huawei Watch GT 2 is like its sister, an example in the field of performance measurement.
The GPS responds very well and is extremely precise on the number of km traveled,
Note that this watch has a heart rate sensor, a barometer, altimeter, a gyroscope, an accelerometer, and a GPS.
And on top of that, you can listen to music without your smartphone thanks to its storage capacity, if you have a bluetooth headset.
You will understand, in terms of sports measurement or even on its GPS, the watch is in the top level.
Always as great autonomy.
Like many people, I think this is an important point when it comes to a connected watch.
With this new version, Huawei is still going strong and offers a duration of around a week (and even a little more).
Despite heavy use, with message reception, sleep tracking, and other daily activities, this watch was still on after 7 days.
Activating Always-On mode still greatly decreases battery life.
For recharging, count around 1:30 – 2 hours to reach 100%.
Conclusion / Opinion:
The Huawei Watch GT 2 looks a lot like the first version, both in design and in function.
The big news is the Always-On function, which is clearly available for telling the truth.
The main flaw is its lack of possibility by the fact that Huawei has decided to offer its own OS.
It is a very good smartwatch but does not have enough novelty and therefore, for those who own the previous watch of the brand, the interest remains limited
